In Ezekiel 22:30, God says He sought someone who would stand in the gap, to repair the breach and intercede on behalf of the land. Just as the people of Israel needed intercessors to advocate on their behalf, so too does the body of Christ need those who will faithfully pray for God’s intervention in the lives of others.
